Abstract In a study testing whether mindfulness decreases cognitive biases, respondents answered 22 standard bias questions to measure susceptibility the endowment effect, overconfidence, mental accounting, anchoring, loss aversion, and 17 other as well 14 of Langer survey (LMS), measuring traits novelty-seeking, novelty producing, engagement. A portion were randomly pre-assigned condition that induced mindfulness. On 19 those be mindful less likely show bias. They also scored higher on 11 LMS questions. People can boost their decision-making abilities merely increasing mindfulness, with no need for meditation, psychological training, or statistical education.
